on march 16, 2022, PIL Shipping co., ltd. celebrated its 55th birthday! The Singapore headquarters hosted a grand celebration online and offline event, and PIL companies and all employees around the world shared a special moment of celebration.
At the ceremony, Mr. Lars and Mr. Gan, co-presidents of the Group, delivered speeches respectively, and Chairman Zhang Songsheng of the Group reviewed the development process of PIL over the past 55 years and deeply remembered the founder, Mr. Zhang Yunzhong. Since its inception in Singapore in 1967, PIL has grown from operating inshore bulk cargo shipping to becoming one of the 12th largest container shipowners in the world, owning and operating a fleet of approximately 100 container ships and multi-purpose vessels. In addition to its core liner shipping business, PIL’s business also covers container manufacturing, terminals, warehousing, and logistics services. As the first foreign shipping company to enter China, PIL has always regarded China as the focus of its business development.
At present, Taiping China has more than 20 branches and subsidiaries in the country, the whole team adheres to high efficiency and pragmatism, dares to break through and dare to fight, and under the correct leadership of the group, the company’s profits last year created a record high.
